According to Literature and Latte, things are now on track for a 2014 release. It was originally slated for a 2013 release, but a change of developer has pushed that back. But short of nuclear destruction, Scrivener for iOS will surely be out in 2015 at last.įor those like me that use Scrivener in their daily writing lives, you may be hanging out for a version of Scrivener for iPad. Once again, my sincere apologies for how delayed this project has been. Internal beta-testing will take a couple of months at the very least given that we have to be sure that syncing is working well and isn’t going to lose anyone’s work before unleashing it on the world, so it will be a little while yet before we start showing screenshots and talking about the release date – but it is coming. We now expect to be entering private beta-testing early in the new year. We were hoping to have it in private beta-testing by the end of the year, but are not quite there yet – although we are very close. ![]() Scrivener for iOS continues to progress (I know, I’ve been saying that for three years now). Update: the team at Literature and Latte have added some information into their pre-Xmas 2014 newsletter, claiming it’s all systems go for a 2015 release of the iOS version: Update 2: It now appears the development is occurring in house after some ongoing frustrations with developers. This time next week you’ll be able to carry your Scrivener projects around in your pocket. I know it took a long time to get to this point, but I hope you like the end result. There’s much more, too-enough so, in fact, that Literature and Latte have chosen to make Scrivener 2.0 a paid upgrade. He’s improved the corkboard view, adding the ability to place cards in a free-form manner and print them out introduced a page layout view to help screenwriters tweaked the fullscreen mode to allow for an optional background picture added custom icons and document templates and beefed up support for exporting to the Final Draft format. The developer, Blount, has spent a lot of time tweaking Scrivener’s interface and other features to provide an even better experience for its users. While sync and ePub support may be two of the biggest changes in Scrivener 2.0, they’re far from the only ones-or even the most noticeable. If you don’t have or want a Simplenote account, you can still sync your files with a folder on your Mac, exporting them to RTF, TXT, or Final Draft format if necessary. Scrivener will even show you which files you’ve changed in Simplenote the next time you sync. ![]() You can choose which parts of your Scrivener project file you want to sync, opt to take snapshots of your documents for safekeeping prior to upload, and add a project keyword that makes it easy to find those documents among your other Simplenote entries. ![]()
