![]() Tobey Maguire's bizarre dancing, altered haircut, and cheesy one-liners completely rob Spider-Man and Venom's bonding of the dread it deserves as Peter Parker falls into darkness. Despite the cult status his Spider-Man trilogy has achieved, undoubtedly one of the worst aspects of Sam Raimi's films is his overtly comical portrayal of Peter Parker succumbing to the Symbiote's violent tendencies. Leaving the Symbiote adrift of Tom Hardy's Brock and free to bond with Peter Parker in a subsequent Spider-Man movie also finally gives the MCU a chance to banish the demons of previous black suit Spider-Man portrayals and add their own unique twist to one of the character's most iconic storylines. Doctor Strange jettisoning Eddie Brock while he is separated from the Symbiote in this way sets up Venom's best MCU storyline, which is his bonding with Spider-Man to form the black suit. Furthermore, Sam Raimi's critically panned and farcical take on Spider-Man being bonded with Venom is the only on-screen version to date, which is a glaring issue the MCU can finally rectify by separating Tom Hardy's Eddie from Venom. Instead, Venom's best MCU narrative can unfold only if Tom Hardy's Eddie is sent back into his own universe without the Symbiote by Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), setting up the MCU's version of the classic black suit Spider-Man storyline. ![]() Yet while his name is currently synonymous with the character of Eddie Brock, Venom's perfect MCU future does not include Tom Hardy. Whether this scenario comes to pass or not, Venom's MCU confirmation opens many new narrative doors for the franchise to explore into phase 4 and beyond. Edward Charles Allan Eddie Brock is the human host of the symbiote Venom. ![]() The Multiverse sending old foes to face Spider-Man in No Way Home neatly sets up a potentially mouth-watering confrontation between Peter Parker and his classic nemesis Venom, although there has been no word on whether this meeting will arrive in No Way Home, or is being saved for a future project. Tom Hardy is now set to make his first appearance in the MCU following Venom: Let There Be Carnage's seismic post-credits scene, which confirmed Eddie and the Symbiote's presence within the Marvel Cinematic Universe earlier this year. ![]()
